    Effective April 1, 2009
The City of Colorado Springs began 2009 with a $16.8 million budget shortfall. To compensate for a weak economy and loss of revenue to pay for city services, Colorado Springs City Council approved new revenue sources and cut many departments by 14.5%. These changes will affect our customers and have an impact on the way we do business.

With approval from City Council, we have increased fees. We regret that we must pass on these increases and/or service reductions to you, but these measures will allow us to continue to provide the value and quality of service you have come to expect.
